Paid online by card · recorded in your books

  • Card or bank, in a click

Customers open the invoice and pay by card, or from their bank: ACH in the US, pre-authorized debit in Canada. No account to create.

  • Cards over the phone

A customer reads you their card? Charge it right on the invoice, on Stripe's secure page, with a receipt to them.

  • Fees and payouts recorded

Through your own Stripe account. Stripe's fee is booked for you, and each payout is matched to your bank deposit.

  • Automatic payments

Recurring customers save a card or bank account once, and each invoice is charged on its due date, with a receipt.

How it works

Simple from start to finish

  1. 1

In Settings › Payments, connect the Stripe account you already use, or set up a new one.

  2. 2

Send invoices as usual. The Pay now link is added for you.

  3. 3

When a customer pays, the invoice is marked paid.

  4. 4

Stripe's payout to your bank is matched in Bank transactions, so nothing is counted twice.

Questions

What does it cost?

Stripe's standard fee on each payment (bank payments cost less than cards). TallyPip adds nothing on top.

Where does the money go?

Into your own Stripe account, then to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule.

Can customers pay from their bank?

Yes. They pick their bank on Stripe's page: ACH for businesses in the United States, pre-authorized debit for businesses in Canada. Bank payments take a few working days to clear; the invoice shows the payment is on its way and is marked paid once it clears.

Who can use it?

Businesses in the United States (US dollars) and Canada (Canadian dollars).

Can customers pay part of an invoice?

Yes, if you turn it on in Settings › Payments. The online invoice then lets them choose how much to pay, and the rest stays on the invoice. You're emailed each time a customer pays.

What happens when I refund a payment?

Refund it in your Stripe Dashboard. TallyPip records a refund receipt for you, taking your income and sales tax down to match, so your books and your Stripe balance agree.

Can customers pay automatically?

Yes, for recurring invoices. On the invoice, your customer chooses Pay automatically and saves a card or bank account on Stripe's page. Each new invoice is then charged on its due date. They get every invoice by email first and a receipt after, and either of you can stop it any time.
