Expenses and bills
Email your receipts to TallyPip
Your business has its own receipts address. Forward a receipt there and it lands in Receipts, read and ready to match.
Your business has its own receipts address, like brightlawn-k7m2q9@receipts.tallypip.com. Forward a receipt email to it, or email a photo or PDF of a paper receipt, and it shows in Receipts within a few minutes, read and matched like one you uploaded.
Find your address
- 1Go to Receipts and press Email receipts.
- 2Under Your receipts address, press Copy.
- 3Save it as a contact on your phone and computer ("TallyPip receipts"), so forwarding takes a second.
Send a receipt
- A receipt that came by email (an online order, a ride, a bill): press Forward and send it to your receipts address.
- A paper receipt: take a photo and email it to the address, or attach a PDF.
- Several at once: attach up to 10 photos or PDFs to one email. Each becomes its own receipt.
- An email with no attachment: the email itself is kept as a PDF (who sent it, when, the subject and its words), and that becomes the receipt.
Logos and little pictures inside an email aren't kept. Files other than PDFs and photos (JPG, PNG, WebP), and anything over 8 MB, are left out.
Who can send to it
- Everyone in your business, from the email address they sign in to TallyPip with.
- Approved senders: an owner or admin can add someone else under Who can email receipts in: a whole address (receipts@store.com) or everyone at a domain (@store.com). Give your address to a store or supplier that emails receipts, then approve them.
Emails from anyone else are left out, and so are emails whose sender can't be confirmed (a made-up From line) and spam. That keeps strangers' files out of your books. Automatic forwarding from your mailbox usually keeps the store's address as the sender: approve the store, or forward receipts yourself.
See what came in
Emails that came in, on the same page, lists each email for 90 days and what became of it: Added, Not from an approved sender, Couldn't confirm who sent it, No receipt in it, Receipts isn't on, Looked like spam or Couldn't be added. If something from someone in your business couldn't be added, TallyPip emails them to say why.
Receipts and your plan
Emailed receipts count like uploaded ones: on the free trial they use your free receipts, and after that they need Receipts turned on (see Receipts).
A new address
If your address is being misused, or you'd rather start fresh, an owner or admin presses Make a new address. The old one stops working at once, so tell anyone who uses it.
