Get your bank transactions into TallyPip
Upload a statement (CSV or PDF), connect your bank, or add a transaction by hand.
First add each bank and credit card account in Bank transactions (Add account). Then bring its transactions in any of these ways.
Upload a statement
- 1Sign in to your bank's website, open the account and look for Download, Export or Statements.
- 2Choose a date range and download it as CSV (sometimes called Spreadsheet or Excel). A PDF statement works too, when it's switched on for your account.
- 3In Bank transactions, choose Upload a statement, pick the account and the file.
Uploading the same dates twice is fine: TallyPip skips anything it already has. With a PDF, TallyPip checks the transactions add up to the statement's closing balance and tells you if they don't.
Connect your bank
If you see Connect a bank (next to Add account at the top of Bank transactions), you can sign in to your bank through Plaid and new transactions arrive by themselves. Once one is connected, the same button says Connect another bank. TallyPip never sees your bank password.
More accounts at a bank you've already connected? Use Add accounts on that bank under Bank connections and tick the extra accounts. Connecting the same bank a second time for the same accounts isn't needed: TallyPip spots it and points you to Add accounts.
Bank sync is part of a paid plan. If a trial ends without one, syncing pauses and we email you; after 14 more days without a plan we disconnect the bank. Closing a business disconnects its banks straight away. Either way, your accounts and transactions stay; you can connect again any time.
Add one by hand
For cash or an account you don't upload, use Add transaction at the top of Bank transactions.
Nothing goes into your books until you post it from Pending.
