Getting started
Find any setting: Account and settings
Every setting in one place, grouped by what you want to do, with what's set now and a search box. Each setting shows its value in plain words; press Change to edit it.
Open the gear at the top of the page and choose Account and settings. It starts on All settings: every setting in TallyPip, grouped by what you want to do, each group with what's set now.
- Your company: your business's name and details, country, currency, when your year starts, and the accounting method.
- Invoices and sales: invoice defaults (terms, sales tax rate, message, footer), custom form styles, columns, form content, emails, automatic payment reminders and late fees.
- Getting paid online: card and bank payments, automatic payments and payouts.
- Sales tax: what you owe and when you file, and your tax rates.
- Banking: your bank and card accounts, rules, and your address for emailing receipts.
- Tracking: classes and locations, tags, custom fields, multicurrency and exchange rates.
- Books and closing: the chart of accounts, closing the books, starting balances and the switching checklist.
- Team and access, Your profile, Subscriptions and billing, and Apps and data (connected apps, webhooks, importing, downloading all your data, closing the business).
Find a setting
Type in Find a setting at the top of All settings, for example late fees, logo or closing date, and press the one you want: it opens that page at the right place. The search box at the top of every page finds settings too.
See what's set, then change it
- 1Each part of a settings page (Company, Sales, Payments, Advanced, Your profile) shows what's set now, in plain words.
- 2Press Change to open it and make your changes. On Company and Sales press Save changes (on Sales, Save invoice defaults), and Cancel puts everything back; on the other pages each part has its own Save, and Done closes it again.
- 3Once it's saved, the part shows the new values.
The settings pages are listed down the left (on a phone, as buttons above the page): Company, Sales, Payments, Advanced, Manage users, Your profile, Support access, Subscriptions and billing, Connected apps and Close business. Owners and admins see all of them; everyone sees Your profile.
A few settings live beside what they change, like Rules with your bank transactions and Automatic payment reminders on the Invoices page. All settings lists and links them all, so you never have to remember where.
